ABOUT THE MARLETA CHADWICK STUDENT FINANCIAL ADVISORS

The Nelson Rusche College of Business created the Student Financial Advisors organization in 2014 to emphasize financial literacy and smart money management to help people dealing with financial crises. The advisors assisted individuals with budgeting, credit card and debt management, identity theft, and fraud.

In 2015, the Chadwick Family of Center, Texas, graciously donated to Stephen F. Austin State University, in honor of their mother, Marleta Chadwick. Through her life, she recogized the value of a college education, the importance of managing finances and understanding the commitment needed to successfully run a business. This promoted the family's gift to the program, which has allowed the program to grow into what is is today.

Today, the Marleta Chadwick Student Financial Advisors promote financial literacy and smart money management to SFA students and the East Texas community through one-on-one appointments, presentations, and workshops. Topics covered include budgeting, credit cards, debt mangement, insurance, identity theft, fraud prevention, investing, savings, retirement, banking, and paying for college.
